Three factors combine to give you big gains when you make the change to Quadbeam sensors. The third is simplicity. Find out where the series started here.
No-one likes wasting time trying to figure out technology. That’s why Quadbeam’s sensors and service are so user-friendly.
Here’s three ways we make it simple to use Quadbeam’s multi-beam sensors:
1. Just a small step to get started
Even a really simple installation offers immediate benefits. We manufacture immersion-style sensors which can be used in a sump, flume or weir. Just secure it in a drain, and start measuring solids concentration straight away. This will help highlight losses and identify process efficiency improvements.
When possible, add flow monitoring to help quantify the product that's washing away and make it part of your overall process improvement programme.
From there we offer a range of sensor options to best suit the control opportunities highlighted. For example, if you've identified a problem with your CIP process, we've got the sensor you need for upstream improvements.
2. Simple calibration and connection
It’s easy to calibrate our sensors and even a simple, two-point calibration will get you going. Then tune things up with more sophisticated calibration to get even greater process control and optimum results.
By calibrating Quadbeam sensors against site standards using your product, the sensor output is directly related to your process giving a more meaningful and accurate output for your operators.
With 4-20mA output or optional Modbus RS485 from our controllers, integration is simple.
3. Expert support at your fingertips
Installations can be simple or as sophisticated as you need them to be. Either way, we’re here to help. Because we have customers around the world, we’re used to working across time zones to provide support. When you pick up the phone, you’ll be speaking to the same team that makes the sensors and knows them inside out—literally. Thanks to modern technology, we can go right into the factory to check out your installation on Zoom, FaceTime, Teams, Meet, Skype, or whatever you use. If you want the in-person touch, we have international distributors in your area who can help. And, of course, our website is full of quickstart guides, manuals, how-to videos, and application notes.
Example application: calibration
Quadbeam sensors use a ratio-metric algorithm to generate a probe signal which can be related to turbidity or suspended solids concentration. Calibration relates the probe signal value to the “engineering” value which can be expressed in %, mg/L, g/L, ppm, ppt, NTU or FTU. Our sensors can be linearised with a calibration curve of up to 10 points. For substances that have a non-linear response to NIR light, like milk fat, we recommend a calibration curve of at least 5 points. Quadbeam sensors can be calibrated using samples, and fine adjustments can be done after installation using grab samples and lab testing.
Quadbeam’s multi-beam sensors bring you the power of efficiency, sustainability, and simplicity. Put them together, and you’ve got big gains from small change.
